In the wake of continued acts of violence against Black Americans, many people are struggling with feelings of despair, sorrow, anger or even numbness. Traumatic events such as these — along with racism, discrimination, historical trauma, and other inequities — contribute to mental health challenges experienced by Black communities. In these times, and at all times, Each Mind Matters stands in solidarity with the Black community in the fight for racial justice and health equity.
While the impact of systemic racism on the health of individuals and communities is substantial, we must also recognize the resiliency and strength of the Black community. For mental health resources that support this resilience and provide support during these challenging times, check out the following list of Black and/or culturally-responsive providers, ways to make therapy more affordable and self-help for Black and African American people.
